One of the hardest parts of my startup journey was breaking away from Brazil's more collectivist culture—and even mainstream startup culture.
I had to unlearn the deeply ingrained cultural programming that says, "extreme ambition isn't feminine," or "prioritizing work over social life is wrong," or "thinking you can change the world is arrogant."
I learned that my way of being—the fierce intensity, the audacious goals, the all-consuming drive—isn't something to fix, balance, or apologize for. It's who I am.
